Today, we’re expanding the Bonsai 2 family with three new ternary models based on Qwen3.5: Ternary Bonsai 2 2B, 4B, and 9B. Joining Bonsai 2 27B, they bring stronger capabilities to smaller deployment footprints and give developers more choices for building AI applications within local devices.

Building on first-generation Bonsai 1.7B, 4B, and 8B, the new models combine improved reasoning, visual understanding, and support for tool-driven workflows. The family now spans four sizes, allowing developers to balance task complexity, response time, and memory requirements.

The new models use a ternary representation that encodes weights using three values: {−1, 0, +1}. The 2B, 4B and 9B models have footprints of 0.43GB, 0.95GB and 2GB, respectively, more than 9× smaller than their full-precision counterparts.

HTTPDirFS is a filesystem that allows you to mount arbitrary websites using the FUSE framework. It comes with a cache system, and Airsonic / Subsonic server support.

HTTPDirFS parses HTML directory listings using the Gumbo HTML5 parser. It extracts descriptive filenames from anchor text (<a>), resolves name collisions with progressive URL path escalation.

If you only want to access a single file, there is also a simplified Single File Mode. This can be especially useful if the web server does not present a HTTP directory listing.

There is also support for Airsonic / Subsonic server. This allows you to mount a remote music collection locally.

The cache system caches the file segments you have accessed, so you don't need to download those segments again if you access them later. This feature is triggered by the --cache flag. This is similar to the --vfs-cache-mode full feature of rclone mount

FastAPI provides OpenTelemetry support by default for HTTP request traces, metrics, and logs. WebSocket connections also provide traces and logs. To see that data, configure a monitoring service to receive it.

When you deploy to FastAPI Cloud with fastapi[standard], metrics work automatically. You don't have to configure anything else.

On Pro plans, you can view request counts, error rates, and response times in the Metrics dashboard.
